ENCM 369 Winter 2010 Information about Course Grades

Marks on Blackboard

As of Friday, May 7, at approximately noon, all students should be able to see all of their marks on Blackboard, including their lab totals, and their final exam scores.

Overall Course Score

Overall course scores were computed as follows:

20 * (lab total / 163) + 30 * (midterm / 68) + 50 * (final exam / 100)

Conversion to Letter Grades

  A+                  89
  A                   84
  A-                  79

  B+                  75
  B                   71
  B-                  67

  C+                  63
  C                   59
  C-                  55

  D+                  52
  D                   49

As specified by the Course Outline, any student who got less than 40 percent on the final examination was given an F grade in the course.

Grade Changes

Grades may be changed only under the following circumstances:

There has been an error in the recording of your term marks (labs and midterm test). We hope all such errors have already been corrected, but if you have a very good reason why you were not able to bring the problem to your instructors' attention earlier in the term, please do so as soon as possible.
You discover an error in the way your marks have been added up or converted to a letter grade.
You discover an error in the marking of your final exam.

Photocopies of students' final examinations will be available from the Engineering Undergraduate Office on or shortly after May 31, 2010.
